Abstract

To question the political limits of the public and private spheres, their fractures, opacities, interdependencies and historicity from a non-androcentric perspective is, above all, to ask about the legitimacy and justification of their demarcations and exclusions. Its delimitations reverberate until today in a restricted style of democracy, which entails gender inequalities and injustices. The division into spheres tends to be approached from an economic and social point of view, without considering the ontological-political dimensions at stake in the usual naturalizations of sexuality, motherhood and the body, separated from the dimension of words and decisions. In this article I propose to examine the redefinitions and aporia of the public and private, according to the perspectives of Hannah Arendt, Geneviève Fraisse, Luce Irigaray, Celia Amorós, Nancy Fraser, María Luisa Femenías, Seyla Benhabib, Paul B.Preciado, Judith Butler, among other authors. The purpose is to explore alternative public spaces or counter-public spaces that redefine the political in a non-androcentric way.
