The political sphere is a highly masculinized space. While it can be observed a progress on legislative and normative matters, there is also a complex resistance regarding to gender affais: for instance, is the case of harassment and political gender violence, where exists an intersection between gender inequality, discrimination, and violence against women in the political sphere. The media, including social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter, provide new platforms where political violence against women may be present. This article examines the progress from the the Regional Conferences on Women’s agreements and consensus, focused on the achievement of equality and the paradox of the emerging violence against women in political sphere, and the social debate generated by the gender parity in the Chilean constituent body.
